Spina Bifida is the most common permanently disabling birth defect in the United States. It occurs when a baby's spine fails to close properly during the first months of pregnancy. This causes full or partial paralysis and on-going medical challenges. However, most born with Spina Bifida can expect to live happy and fulfilling lives. More Facts about Spina Bifida...

| Baked goods and fruit for breakfast, a brisk 2-mile walk/roll through a scenic park, games and prizes for children, a picnic lunch with family and friends, and live music by the CODE, what's not to love about the annual Walk & Roll for Spina Bifida! Over 800 came together on Saturday, September 26th to kick-off Spina Bifida Awareness month and support individuals and families living in the tri-state. It was a cool, foggy morning, but the rain let up just in time to start the festivities. SBAC is dedicated to advocating for, educating, and supporting individuals with Spina Bifida, but we can not do it alone. The Walk & Roll provides much of the funding necessary to continue programming each year. Our deepest appreciation goes to our corporate sponsors, and the family, friends, neighbors and co-workers who walked, rolled, volunteered and donated this year. Your participation truly makes a difference!
